Weather Restrictions and Aerial Photography

As the summer thunderstorms begin to roll through Denver, it is important to take a minute to discuss how these may affect drone operations for real estate photography. We have had to reschedule a number of jobs due to weather, so here are some tips if you are looking to schedule a drone service with us this summer.

Timing: We generally suggest scheduling aerial photography for midday, between 10am and 2pm. This not only allows for optimal lighting conditions, it also reduces the risk that there will be rain while we shoot. Storms typically roll through the Denver around 3-4pm sometimes through sunset during the summer months. If it is raining at all during a scheduled shoot, we will postpone and work with you to reschedule and hope for better weather.

Flexibility: If you have a piece of real estate ready to be shot from the sky, ideally you will give us an address and a date range for when the assets need to be delivered. With that flexibility, we are able to schedule you without having to worry about making any list minute changes with your agreement.

Meet in Person: If you need someone to be onsite while we are filming with our drones, this will add some complexity if poor weather arrives last minute. Since this will cause us both to reschedule for another time that works with both of our calendars, we typically like to be given a date range to shoot on our own time. With that said, we are more than happy to meet someone onsite if that is a requirement for the shoot.

We know that summer months are a popular time to get aerial photos and videos for your properties. The flowers are in bloom and the trees and grass are green as can be. As long as we can be flexible with the shooting schedule, we will have fantastic assets ready for you to market your property. Don’t forget to give us a call and we’ll get you on our schedule!
