Legal Drone Photography

Our drone pilots have passed the FAA Part 107 exam, which has allowed them to receive remote pilot certifications from the FAA. This allows us to conduct drone photography operations commercially and legally. As drone photography has become more prevalent across the United States, the FAA has developed guidelines that must be followed for any business to use an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) for any commercial gain.

These guidelines were developed to keep the national airspace safe while drones become more common for both hobbyists and businesses. With some close calls and injuries related to drone flight making it in the news lately, it is now more important than ever to make sure you are using qualified and legal professionals for any commercial drone photography job.

Here are a few videos that show what mistakes may lead to when a pilot is conducting a drone photography operation without proper safety protocols:

At COByDrone, we pride ourselves on safety and professionalism. We will always make sure we have a proper flight plan, are not flying over people not involved with the project, and have a spotter on site. This has allowed us to conduct dozens of commercial drone photography operations without a single issue. Both of our pilots have hundreds of hours of combined experience behind the controls of a variety of drones.

When you are looking for qualified pilots to fly your commercial drone photography job, make sure you are using pilots who are licensed, since that will show their commitment not only to safety, but also to quality of the work.
